IDEA's first in-person meet-up: a lunch and discussion hosted by Farah Said (LUMS; IDEA Board — Asia Representative) with founding president Dean Yang. Twenty development economists attended, from LUMS, the Lahore School of Economics, CERP, the World Bank, IPA, the IGC, and elsewhere. The discussion covered what IDEA owes scholars in the global South, the working paper series, matchmaking between PIs and early-career researchers, and how the association will fund itself. The group agreed to explore a Lahore chapter as IDEA's first local chapter.
